In a community, parks and recreational spaces often tend to reflect the quality of life and the general livability. To enhance the lives of community members of Salisbury Park in Pune, the Poonawalla Group and Villoo Poonawalla Foundation, along with the local authorities, built the Gool Poonawalla Garden.

The garden is spread over 1000 acres of space, with more than 500 trees, 2 km of jogging space, and 4 playing areas for children. To serve communities in the cluster, the space is thoughtfully designed with abundant natural flora and verdant greenery.

Vir Tarapore Amrut Minar

A structure built to commemorate 75 years of Indian independence.

Amrut Minar is a landmark Tower being built in Pune by the Serum Institute of India and the Villoo Poonawalla Foundation. The structure honors the memory of Lt. Col. Vir Tarapore, who lost his life on 16th September, 1965. A true hero, he displayed great valor and bravery, and upheld the highest traditions of the Indian Army, for which he was awarded the Param Vir Chakra posthumously.

The structure is highly customised and complex, standing at 75 feet tall and weighing nearly 20,000 kg. By building Amrut Minar, the Villoo Poonawalla Foundation takes a step further in preserving and telling stories about India’s history and culture.

Alongside this, the Villoo Poonawalla Foundation has helped build two other parks in Pune for the well-being of residents - the Mahatma Gandhi Udyan in Tasgaon and the Poonawalla Park in Baramati.
