Alert India, has been committed to improving the health and social status of people affected by leprosy and other communicable diseases since 1978. The initiative focuses especially on tribal groups, women, children, and people with disabilities
Through its people-centric disease control programs and community initiatives, the organization has reached more than 8 million people, impacted more than 70,000 individuals, and established over 250 Leprosy Referral Centers. The Villoo Poonawalla Foundation proudly backs Alert India’s initiatives to treat leprosy and build a healthier society.
