Founded in 2007 by King Charles 111, the British Asian Trust addresses immediate challenges threatening the future recovery of vulnerable communities. Through its impact-driven programs, the organization works to reduce poverty and uplift communities in South Asia. To achieve its goal, the British Asian Trust focuses on four key areas - Child Protection, Education, Livelihoods, and Mental Health.
The foundation also pioneers in ‘social finance’, a concept through which it utilizes capital to tackle urgent issues. In South Asia, it has also helped thousands of marginalized women build resilience against poverty and led them to economic empowerment.
With the help of its partners, the organization it has positively impacted over 6.6 million lives. The Villoo Poonawalla Foundation stands firmly with the British Asian Trust to protect children and create more opportunities for everyone in society.
