Foundation for Child Protection-Muskaan

Foundation for Child Protection-Muskaan is an NGO working on preventing Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) and helping survivors for over two decades. The organization’s core initiative is addressing CSA through a multidisciplinary approach of prevention, counselling, police support, legal aid, case work, healing services, and community intervention.
Muskaan focuses on all involved stakeholders - parents, relatives, teachers, police, lawyers, and child protection agencies. It also works with children in Child Care Institutions (CCIs) in need of protection and those in conflict with the law at Observation Homes, to expedite the rehabilitation process. In the last decade, the foundation’s efforts have impacted more than 200,000 lives.
Since 2012, when the Government of India passed the POSCO Act, there has been an increase in the reporting of CSA cases. Muskaan runs several programs with children, authorities, law practitioners, and caregivers to raise awareness about POSCO. In the last decade, the foundation’s efforts have impacted more than 200,000 lives.
The Villoo Poonawalla Foundation works closely with Muskaan to help more children, prevent cases of CSA, and build a better society.
